I can’t believe August is over already. Where did summer go?! We are already being served heaping helpings of cooler weather around these parts, much to my dismay, so I am going to distract myself by looking back fondly upon the last month.
In August, I was:
Reading
I have a problem, which is that it is physically impossible for me to read one book at a time. I don’t know exactly when this happened, because I used to be pretty monogamous when it came to books, but now I’m not content unless I have at least two going at once. I am enjoying all of these books for various reasons, so why limit myself to just one? Judging from this photo, I also have an excessive number of coasters (who even uses coasters?), but that’s for another post on another day.
Oh my goodness. Have you watched this show? If I start an episode, I simply can’t look away until I find out how it concludes. Alli and I watched an episode when she was here and I got a tiny bit hooked. I don’t know if I would say that I recommend it because it can induce some pretty strange dreams, but it’s fascinating to say the least.
Eating (and drinking)
Chocolate and salted caramel together, cold brewed iced coffee (don’t drink and drive), and homemade curry were only a few favorites in the month of August.
Having fun
Introducing Alli to the beauty of a Montana demolition derby, something that she found rather fascinating and bizarre.
A delightful lunch before sunbathing on the dock at the lake all afternoon, resulting in a fantastic-looking sunburn all over my back, from which I’m still recovering. Worth it.
Climbing on the roof at work to watch the air show! Unfortunately, I didn’t actually see any planes because we had the time of the show wrong, but I still got a great view!
That pretty much wraps up August! Bring it on, autumn. I have my sweaters and boots out and I’m ready to face you, even if I have a look of disgust on my face while I do so.
